WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

There’s an old winemaker’s saying that the best vineyards have the best views, and if that’s true, Robert Craig picked the right place to set up shop. At 2,300 feet, Craig’s is the highest winery on Napa’s Howell Mountain and sits against a rugged backdrop of pine forests and distant vistas. This high up, his vines are above the fog line, meaning that he gets both warm mornings and cool afternoon breezes: perfect conditions for ripening Cabernet. Craig makes small lots of wines from mountain grapes; his focus pays off in this tightly structured Cab.
