WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Carine Despinasse first fell in love with her grape-growing husband, Sébastian Pichot, and then fell in love with wine. In 2005 the couple purchased 50 acres of vineyards in southern Languedoc, about 15 miles from the Mediterranean coast. Though at the time the estate’s grapes were being sold off for bulk wine, Despinasse and Pichot recognized the site’s potential, including the quality of its old-vine Grenache. Their 2007 Le Domaine cuvée has all the ripe berry, herb and spice flavors you want in a southern French red.
