From a small family winery in southern France, this Grenache-based blend is a classic example of the region’s luscious, berry-rich reds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Sibling proprietors Véronique and Pierre Boudau gave up corporate jobs to take over the wine estate founded by their grandfather. Located 30 miles from the Spanish border, Domaine Boudau makes several polished wines, all from grapes traditional to the region. This red blend comes from their best vineyard, Le Clos—a 57-acre site marked by dry winds, steep slopes and stony soils. The stressful conditions cause vines to produce just a few grapes, and their concentration is evident in this deeply flavored red.
