What You Need To Know
Catalunya's Terra Alta ("high land") is in the northeast corner of Spain, where Mediterranean breezes help cool down the country's scorching summer heat. As its name implies, Terra Alta sits above sea level, so vineyards cool off at night, which helps to slow ripening and preserve acidity in the grapes. Celler Piñol is a family-run estate, founded more than 50 years ago. Made from estate-grown, organically farmed grapes, the Ludovicus blend combines Spanish varieties with French for maximum complexity.
