This blend of red grapes from Argentina's high Uco Valley is wonderfully supple and complex.
What You Need To Know
The Basso family, which has been making wine in Argentina since 1922, owned one of the largest wineries in the country but sold it in 1996 to get back to more detail-oriented, artisanal wines. This blend, the Bassos' top wine, represents what's can be achieved in the high-altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley, where the grapes reach impressive levels of maturity without compromising structure or balance. This wine also shows the Bassos' deft touch with oak, offering enough to round the wine but not overwhelming the fruit.
