Kirk Venge, one of Napa Valley’s young stars,
fashioned this unusual blend of Chardonnay,
Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier.
What You Need To Know
B Cellars offers the usual roster of
high-end varietal wines that one expects from a boutique Napa
estate, including a Cabernet from the legendary To Kalon
Vineyard, but this year our sourcing team was captivated by this
idiosyncratic white. One of three nontraditional blends that
winemaker Kirk Venge creates each vintage, it expertly combines
lush Chardonnay and zesty Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of
Viognier for a rich, vivacious white. B Cellars—founded in 2003 by
former Four Seasons honcho Duffy Keys and former fashion
executive Jim Borsack—numbers its blends sequentially, so each
wine name is unique to that bottling.
