Thanks to the nearby Pacific Ocean,
Sonoma’s Petaluma Gap is cool and windy:
perfect for producing refined Chardonnay.
What You Need To Know
Keller Estate, the southernmost
winery in the Sonoma Coast district, is a young boutique winery
founded by Arturo and Deborah Keller and run mostly by Arturo’s
daughter Ana. Winemaker Alberto Rodriguez makes the most of
the estate’s location, which sits smack in the middle of the
Petaluma Gap. Through this opening in the coastal hills, nippy
ocean winds and damp fog come streaming in, chilling down the
grapes on warm afternoons and giving them time to ripen
slowly. Thanks to those breezes, this Chardonnay balances its
creamy fruit flavors with fresh acidity.
Ripe apricot and baked
Oak aging adds a
butterscotch note to the

Rich, mild poultry and
seafood dishes and creamy
pastas and risottos.
