What You Need To Know
When most people think of Spanish
wine, they think of deep, dark, lusty reds. But in the last 20 years,
Spain has enjoyed a white wine revolution, and one of the most
delicious discoveries has been Verdejo. The hot, dry climate and
stony alluvial soils of the Rueda region in central Spain hardly seem
like white-grape country, but late-ripening Verdejo thrives there,
making exuberant whites with tangy acidity. The brand Val Sanzo
was created by winemaker Javier Rodriguez for the collection of
wines he makes from many of Spain’s old regions in his
contemporary, fruit-driven, concentrated style.
White peach, orange cream
and star fruit.
Lush and rounded with
a long finish.
Shellfish, grilled fish with
fennel, Manchego and jamón.
