A cool vintage in Sonoma County preserved
this small-lot Pinot Noir’s delicate strawberry
flavors and vibrant spice notes.
What You Need To Know
Trecini proprietor John Vicini emigrated
to the United States at the age of 29 and ended up running one
of Sonoma County’s best Italian restaurants. Having grown up in
Tuscany, where winemaking is about as common as backyard
grilling is in the US, Vicini naturally planted his own grapes after
retirement, focusing on Sonoma’s best-established varieties, such
as Merlot, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir. This Pinot comes from the
Russian River Valley, Sonoma’s top spot for the grape, and gets
complexity from two different clones of Pinot Noir.
Exuberant red fruit, cream,
biscuit and vanilla notes.
Hints of clove and
nutmeg add a spicy edge
to this silky Pinot.
