Lush, spicy Malbec is Argentina’s signature red grape; this bottling comes from the Santos brothers, sons of one of the country’s Malbec pioneers.
What You Need To Know
Pedro and Patricio Santos grew up in the Argentinean wine industry: Their grandparents purchased and rehabilitated one of the country’s oldest wineries, Bodegas Norton, and their father’s Malbecs helped establish the country’s reputation for quality wine abroad. Though the family sold Bodega Norton in 1991, dad Ricardo still owns an eponymous Mendoza winery, for which Patricio makes the wines. The Tercos label is the brothers’ more affordable offshoot. The bottling offers surprising refinement for the price, with notes of flowers and coffee lending complexity to the juicy fruit.
