What You Need To Know
John Drady spent much of his career
developing and marketing wine labels for others. But in 2002,
it was time to create one of his own. Honoring the Pacific Ocean
and its surrounding landscape, he and his wife, Barbara, founded
Sonoma Coast Vineyards. As if the far coast’s frigid conditions
were not abusive enough for vines, the area’s thin, rocky soils
further stress them—all in the name of reduced yields, and thus
increased ripeness and concentration.
