Keller Estate is one of the premier producers
in Sonoma’s Petaluma Gap, a region gaining
a reputation for lithe, expressive wines.
What You Need To Know
Keller Estate spreads over 650 acres
of rolling farmland located smack in the middle of the Petaluma
Gap, an opening in Sonoma’s coastal mountain range. On summer
mornings, thick rafts of fog and nippy ocean winds pour in from
the Pacific, slowing grapes’ ripening and leading to crisper,
brighter wines. Founded by Arturo and Deborah Keller and run
mostly by Arturo’s daughter, Ana, the winery has been growing
grapes since 1989. The Kellers produce just a handful of barrels of
their La Cruz Vineyard Syrah each year; this example shows the
savory, spicy qualities typical of wines from cool regions.
