This succulent, organically grown
Chardonnay was aged in steel, making its
tropical fruit flavors especially bright.
What You Need To Know
Jim Fetzer’s family made organic
grape-growing mainstream in California with their hugely
successful namesake brand. When the Fetzers sold their winery
in the late 1990s, Jim took eco-friendly grape-growing even
further with Ceàgo Vinegarden, a boutique label that uses grapes
exclusively from two biodynamically farmed vineyards.
(Biodnyamics is an extreme, all-encompassing type of organic
agriculture.) The sites are located in Lake and Mendocino
counties, regions just north of the better-known Napa and
Sonoma regions. Their slightly cooler climates give this
Chardonnay its lively freshness.
