R&B Cellars’ Kevin and Barbara Brown are passionate about two things, wine and music—hence the name of this small-lot Zin.
What You Need To Know
If you attend an event at R&B Cellars’ communal tasting room, located in the vibrant urban winemaking neighborhood of Alameda, in San Francisco’s East Bay, chances are that the musicians providing the jazz music will be R&B owners Kevin and Barbara Brown. Barbara sings; Kevin plays piano. The couple moved from the East Coast to California in 2004 to pursue winemaking fulltime; previously Kevin was the national sales manager for Alameda-based Zin specialist Rosenblum Cellars, and Barbara worked as a musician and choral director. They get the Zinfandel grapes for this wine from a small vineyard in Contra Costa County, one of California’s top Zin zones.
