Miner Family Vineyards has mastered a
quintessentially Napa style of Chardonnay:
rich, full and impeccably balanced.
What You Need To Know
Dave Miner had just made a fortune
selling his software company when his uncle and aunt asked him
to help run their estate winery, Oakville Ranch Vineyards, in
1993. The switch from Silicon Valley’s high-tech industry to Napa
Valley’s decidedly mellower wine scene suited Miner. He and wife
Emily introduced their own label in 1999, using grapes partly
from Oakville Ranch Vineyards, having signed on Joseph Phelps
alumnus Gary Brookman as winemaker. Brookman, who’s
also responsible for cult Napa label Grace Family Vineyards,
fashioned wines that garnered acclaim for Miner right out of
the gate. He complements this wine’s ripe, toasty peach notes
with enough crispness that it stays in perfect balance.
and melon notes.
