This classic Rhône red evokes the craggy, brambly landscapes that make Southern France so irresistible.
What You Need To Know
Sixth-generation vintner Cyril Marès makes consistently delicious wines in the underrated Costières de Nîmes region, a slice of southern Provence. In his twenties, Marès traveled and worked abroad, gaining experience at California’s Chalone Vineyards and in Chile before returning to France in 1996 to take over his family’s estate, Mas de Bressades. He turns out spicy, barrel-aged red wines, rich whites and vibrant rosés under the Mas de Bressades and Mas Grand Plagniol labels, all from estategrown grapes.
