This juicy red fuses the rustic power of Sicily’s
major red grape, Nero d’Avola, with the purity
and depth of some of France’s leading varieties.
What You Need To Know
Di Giovanna is run by two brothers,
Klaus and Gunther Di Giovanna, whose Sicilian father and
German mother started their winery in 1985, though the family’s
winemaking history dates back to 1860. The rugged, high-altitude
area where they are based is ideal for reds with concentration
and focus. Thanks to the family’s background, DiGiovanna has long
had a solid market for its wines in Germany; only recently have
the brothers begun bringing their wines to the US.
