What You Need To Know
In the traditional language of the
Languedoc (literally the langue d’Oc), “nines” is the word for
daughters. Hence this winery is named for the three girls of the
husband-and-wife team of Isabelle Mangeart and Christian
Marbler. Their terroir couldn’t be more classic—clay-limestone
slopes in which fossilized shells still pop up every time the earth is
turned. This soil is great for the grapes as it encourages power
without sacrificing grace. The L’Orée blend shows this off nicely,
deep and intense, yet still light on its feet.
