An Austrian original, Grüner Veltliner
began its renaissance 30 years ago, when growers discovered that
with better farming, this formerly ho-hum grape could make good—even great—wines. Wagram, an up-and-coming wine-growing
region is home to Anton Bauer’s family estate. With its fine loess
soil, the Gm.rk vineyard makes a delicious, easy-drinking white
that’s much more suave than the name would suggest.
